Our Mission

A New Beginning strives to create a program that truly reflects the lives of our children, families, staff and community.  We recognize, appreciate and respect the uniqueness of each child and family.  We recognize families as an integral part of the program and encourage their participation in our daily program.         Our center believes that the first five years of a child’s life are the most important for brain development, when their character forms, and how well they develop cognitively and emotionally.  We acknowledge that the years your child will be with us are the most formative years in their lives.  We believe that children learn best through a curriculum which begins with an understanding of their play.  Children learn by doing and active play.  We believe in the process of learning rather than the products.  Our goal is to address the needs of the whole child, taking into account all of their developmental needs:  physical, social, emotional and cognitive.  We understand that children have different needs, interest and developmental levels.  Children should be given opportunities to develop self-discipline, self-reliance and problem-solving skills.         The goal of A New Beginning is to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for all children. A New Beginning is licensed by the Division of Child Development in the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.  We offer lower staff/child ratios and supplementary learning centers in a positive learning environment.  The center is deeply committed to ongoing training and higher education for the teachers and support staff.
